Enjoying It Twice
The quiet joy of an ordinary day
Yesterday we had such a lovely outing during our Christmas holiday.
We went to the Openluchtmuseum, just twenty minutes from where we live.
It’s like a small museum village. We enjoyed it so much.
I took many photos — really many.
And today, the day after, you look at them and think: what do I do with all these pictures?
I know exactly what to do.
I simply enjoy the outing all over again, without going anywhere.
I feel the pleasure return.
I enjoy them twice.
I look at them again. And again.
And then I think: why did this feel so special?
It was small. It was manageable.
And yet it felt like a gift — this little outing.
Still, I’m sharing this one.
The windmill.
The ice on the water.
The little boys standing on it.
Simple. Ordinary.
And somehow, I loved it.
